ANN I think is a little bad on describing BL manga, I mean, just look at Chicks On Anime writings, they're always going on about "yaoi is gay porn for women" blah blah blah or "gay men need rights" (not that I'm against gays or anything)...

I read their descriptions on shonen-ai, yaoi, josei and even yuri, they're all sortof wrong (I believe BL/yaoi is technically part of both shojo and josei, regardless of sexual content, yet a seperate genre, and yuri is a term for anything girl-girl, not just porn and shojo-ai (Girls' Love) isn't used in Japan I believe... yeah.

I believe some Boys' Love is porn but not all of it, I mean, just something has graphic sexual content doesn't make it porn unless it was intened to excite sexual feelings, right?

Anyway, thats just a thought I have, thanks.

I believe anything that has sexual content will be labeled as porno. Ignore it. It does not matter if women or men, regardless of their orientation, read yaoi and the other genres of manga. Read it for your entertainment. Let the others promote yaoi or yuri for their political cause.

While some yaoi can be classed as 'written for women by women', mostly it's for any audience old enough to be having it. I enjoy yaoi, I can read it without wanting to snap a female doe'y 'oh does he love me oh I will stalk him and hang about his phone oh I am but one of his floozies, I have no spine ...' neck and getting my feminisation on.

Although it says in the dictionary....

Pornography- material intended to cause sexual excitement, as a picture, book, or film.

I don't think that if it has sexual content that its necessarily pornography, although some yaoi I think is intended to be porn, but not all of it, I think they're mostly made to show unconditional love or be a parody...

Hehehe...I'm kinda late...but I liked to put my 2 cent on the topic.

I think it's just that people don't really understand Yaoi...esp. guys, and girls who a just not into it. My friends and they still do...just think of it as a version of Hentai for females. I strongly disagree, I don't think so. I've come across many titles. That are deep. Plots and characters that draw you in. Also a story...not just meaning less sex.

Of course...smut Yaoi is different.

How does the ending of Elfen Lied manga differ from the anime ending? Also does Lucy return at the end of the anime? I was wondering because the anime makes it seem so with the outline of her body standing at the door?
