I do enjoy Ishinomori, 009 is a bit of a licensing nightmare, but not impossible. Is there a particular title you'd like to see?

It's really unfortunate that Tokyopop only published the first 10 volumes of Cyborg 009. I would have loved to have read much more of the series. Given Ishinomori's relationship to Tezuka, and DMP's involvement with Tezuka titles, Ishinomori's works do sound like a good fit with DMP's lineup.

Is the fact that 009 is such a long-running title a hindrance to licensing and publishing it, and would it be a concern for fans that it might again not see a run to its completion?

In the case of 009, I think it's just that the more hands you get in a pot, the stickier it gets. Kikaider would, however, be particularly awesome. The young`uns should get a chance to so what they've missed.

I just discovered you can get several of Ishinomori's classics as digital comics through Comixology (available on the Apple Apps store). I picked up the first volumes of Kikaider, Skullman and Cyborg 009 each for $0.99 (on sale). There are several more volumes for each listed at roughly $4.99

Of course that doesn't mean I wouldn't still love to see several of these series in print from DMP... Kickstarter time again? ;)
