DMGstardust is looking for a translator for a new bundle
http://dmgstardust.wordpress.com/2012/0 ... ew-bundle/

Must have passed DMG’s translator test and have submitted their contract to DMG.

We are close to finishing our third book, Chayamachi’s Collection: NOIR is in the final stages for QC, and should be ready for upload to DMG any day now.

In the meantime we need a translator for our next bundle of three, so that we can get new titles as soon as we finish with NOIR.

About Calica
My name is Angela Eastman. I have a BA in English with a minor in Writing for Communication, and I’m currently enrolled in a Creative Writing MFA program. I worked a short editorial internship for a magazine in 2007, and I currently write articles for Suite 101.

I have excellent grammar skills, I am meticulous to ensure there aren’t any mistakes, and I am very hardworking, especially in a situation like this where I know there are other group members waiting on me to complete my work.

If you’d like to learn more about me, my website can be found here: http://anglynn.wordpress.com

About me(ficdogg)
My name is Philip, Im 22 and I have a Bachelors in Computer Science (focusing on graphic and 3D work).
I am a big fan of anime and manga, mostly shonen ^ ^ Dragonball, Hajime no Ippo and Great Teacher Onizuka are my faves, both the anime and the manga, and this is a great opportunity for me to have some part of the manga world.
I have some very basic understanding of Japanese and working on improving it, but nowhere near good enough to translate. I am the group rep, and typesetter for DMGstardust.

The titles we completed are:
The color of the clear blue sky

Koi-Koi's typesetter position has been filled. Thank you!

Upon the completion of our 3-book package, Koi-Koi will sadly be saying good-bye to our excellent typesetter so she can devote more attention to other aspects of life. Work on our third book continues as of right now, but myself, Koi-Koi's editor and rep, and IceJuunanagou, Koi-Koi's translator, would love to line up a new typesetter soon to minimize any delay in being assigned our second package.

We're looking for an experienced typesetter who will approach the work professionally and with a commitment to excellence. We need our new typesetter to be able to typeset at least one chapter (roughly 30 pages typically) per week on average. This will allow us to comfortably complete our titles within the deadlines. We'd also like a typesetter who is open to working on any genre/subject of manga, ideally.

If you've already worked as a DMG localizer, that's certainly a bonus. If you're already working for another group but are positive that you can devote the necessary attention and time to Koi-Koi, that's fine too. We also welcome DMG newcomers, but we're only interested in those who have already passed the test (and ideally have already turned in the contract).

If you haven't already seen our work, I highly recommend you view the samples available here to see if you're capable of producing work on a similar level:

Welcome to SMC: http://www.amazon.com/Welcome-SMC-Yaoi- ... 0071NLH5Q/

You can also learn more about Koi-Koi on our Twitter page: https://twitter.com/#!/dmg_koikoi

If you feel that you're a good match for Koi-Koi, please send me a PM. If you can provide a sample of your work, that would be very appreciated. Thank you!

EDIT: Our Group is Complete

We are a typesetter (published as Kalé Luna, listed in the forums as KittyLoire91800) and an editor (published as Andi Van, listed in the forums as firetigr) looking for a quirky translator to join us and complete our group of misfits. We've released three volumes as Defiant Endeavors LT. Unfortunately, our translator has had to leave, so we're looking for fresh blood.

Kalé resides in Pennsylvania, and has a bachelor's degree in Information Technology with minor in Art. She has been working as a freelance web designer, and has experience with graphics programs such as JASC Paint Shop Pro and Adobe Photoshop. Her hobbies include playing video games, watching anime, reading (manga/novels/fanfics), arts & crafts, drawing, making things like icons and wallpapers for friends, and listening to music (J-Rock, Anime OSTs, & Video Game OSTs).

Andi is currently trapped in California, and is a professional writer (both fiction and technical writing). Samples of her fiction writing are available at http://crankytiger.midnightdragon.net for anyone who would like to view her work beforehand. Her hobbies include photography, reading, music, travel, and dyeing her hair colors not typically found in nature.

We both have a very good (if slightly odd) sense of humor. We're laid-back, friendly, and easy to get along with. We're happy to accept input with our work and have flexible schedules. We take our work seriously, and have no problem working on any kind of manga. We're also easy to get in touch with if questions or problems arise.

Our ideal translator would be someone with a good sense of humor who can be serious about getting things done while having fun during the process. An ability to laugh at the ridiculous is a big plus. If you're interested and/or have any questions, please feel free to PM either of us, find us on twitter as @DESLT_Updates, or leave a comment at http://defiantendeavorslt.wordpress.com. Thanks in advance!

Purple Prose Killers is looking for another Typesetter! We're a team of 2 Translators, 2 Editors, and (formerly) 2 Typesetters. We'd like to get back to the status quo. If you join us, you will start working immediately on two projects due in Feb/Mar.

A little about us: As a team, we've completed 6 titles. We've been working together for over a year now, so everyone's pretty comfortable in their positions and knows the process well. We're working on shojo/fantasy/romance/drama stuff right now, but we've done a lot of yaoi in the past.

We're looking for a Typesetter who can:
- Meet group quality standards
- Maintain communication
- Make deadlines

Applicants with a background in writing or who have also passed the Editing test are preferred. In our group, the Typesetters are essentially the first line of quality checking, so a good working knowledge of English spelling & grammar is essential. We would prefer Typesetters who aren't already in groups; we would like someone for whom Purple Prose Killers is their main commitment. People who haven't worked with a group before, people who have only worked on special assignments--- this is your chance!

To apply for the position, please contact me over PM. Let me know what you've worked on and why you'd be a good candidate for us. If you still have copies of the Typesetting test, I would like to see that too (before & afters, if possible!).
I am: Typesetter and Group Leader for PURPLE PROSE KILLERS

Re: looking for typesetter interested in shojo-ai & yuri titles

Postby Schnekk » Sun Sep 23, 2012 6:25 pm

Hello!

My name is Anna. I'm an editor interested in forming a new DMG group to work solely on shojo-ai and yuri titles. I have a translator on board, so if you're a typesetter interested in working on this genre please drop me a line via PM here, and we can sort out if we'd make a good team.

If you have samples of your work, I'd appreciate being able to take a look at them. I've edited several titles for DMG as well as on my own, and I'd be happy to provide them, as well.

Looking forward to working with you,
--Anna

Koi-Koi needs an emergency letterer for a single book!

The Promised Place, the second and final volume in the Pt/Platina boy's love series (http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=29836) is partially completed, but myself, Koi-Koi's editor and rep, and IceJuunanagou, Koi-Koi's translator, are in need of a letterer to begin the typesetting!

You'll have access to One Arm to Protect You, the first volume, which is in post-production right now, so that you can get all the info you'll need, and we'd like a letterer who's adaptable and able to shoot for as much visual consistency with the first volume as possible as far as fonts and such go. We'd like someone who can begin work immediately in order to minimize the delay on The Promised Place.

If you haven't already seen our work, I highly recommend you view the samples available here to see if you're capable of producing work on a similar level:

Love and Trap: http://www.amazon.com/Love-Trap-Yaoi-Ma ... 006D7H1Q0/
Welcome to SMC: http://www.amazon.com/Welcome-SMC-Yaoi- ... 0071NLH5Q/
These are the Hungry: http://www.amazon.com/These-Hungry-Yaoi ... 007EWJ8MS/
Not for a Student: http://www.amazon.com/Not-Student-Shojo ... 008VFZFUG/

You can also learn more about Koi-Koi on our Twitter page: https://twitter.com/#!/dmg_koikoi

If you feel that you're a good match for Koi-Koi and would like to work on The Promised Place, please send me a PM. If you can provide a sample of your work, that would be very appreciated. Thank you!

Looking for an editor!

Postby MsCelsius » Wed Jun 05, 2013 9:26 am

As the letterer of "All you need is painful love", I regret to inform that our editor got sacrificed to a volcano god or something. Which means we are looking for a new one! Yayness!

Preferrably, one that doesn't disappear for months and has a strong command of grammar, punctuation, and hyphenation rules.

It should be noted that, as we were left to our own devices for most of the producion process, the translator and I became a little rowdy and got used to discussing editorial decisions between the two of us. Not that we particularly liked it, as it felt like we were orphans or something, but the habit may be hard to kill, and if you are an editor with an iron grip the relationship could be a little weird.

It should also be noted that neither of us is a native English speaker, so our wording is weird and a little stiff at sometimes (If that wasn't obvious by now, at least in my case).

Anyways, we are easygoing and approachable, and we like to keep in contact and report progress at least once a week.

So, if interested, please PM me.
