Kitty Media's Website Scares Me

Its such a creepy site, then again its mainly a hentai publishing imprint of Media Blasters. They even have a thing before you enter asking you what your sexual orientation is! OMG.

Kitty's website is quite a mess, and unfortunately, it's not frequently updated.
But re: how "scary" it is.. Well, they ask you if you're 18 years old to be an adult enough to enter... (are you? :)). Re: sexual orientation - they ask it only to offer you relevant products. They also have an option " NO PREFERENCE?" for all those who are too surprised by an "orientation" question.

But if you say 'gay' it shows "yaoi"... I thought yaoi was a female-oriented genre of manga. And actually no, I'm 16, I did it out of sheer curiosity. Whoops, bad decision on my part.

The Kitty Media website is in dire need of a web makeover but unfortunately with the recent layoffs at Media Blasters, Kitty Media's parent company, its not going to happen any time soon. Also Kitty Media licenses het-hentai anime and has their BoyBoy line which licenses yaoi anime and manga.

In my opinion, the orientation question is used for people visiting the site and to see which "way they swing" since not everyone is going to like yaoi or het-hentai. Its silly to have that option yet its still there. It makes the website look even less dynamic and its also a navigator's nightmare.

The website is not scary, its just lifeless and dull.

So technicaly you're saying yaoi is gay hentai (since you say "het-hentai")? No, yaoi is nothing like hentai. But anyway it just scares me because it sells hentai (porn) manga.

I didn't try to say that yaoi is "gay hentai". I was under the impression that you knew that Kitty Media acquires and distributes a variety of mature anime and manga for the adult audience.

I don't know how much yaoi you have read but after reading it for ten years, a lot of yaoi is just as explicit as het-hentai, its just not being acquired by the current BL publishers. I own original yaoi doujinshis from one of my favorite mangakas, Minami Ozaki, and she illustrates and writes some of the most sexually explicit material. The yaoi being acquired by June Manga and the like are the ones that are marketable and will sell. I will admit that I was surprised when UGH was acquired because it is a very explicit yaoi manga, far more explicit than the other 801 Media mangas.

The why do you call it het-hentai if you don't think yaoi is gay hentai? Becuase I thought 'het' was another term for heterosexual? Oh well.

I've read a lot of yaoi manga. Most are the shojo ones and not the redicomi ones. So I don't read the very explicit ones. The only ones for adult women that I have read are Sensitive Pornograph and A Foreign Love Affair, both of which I think weren't that bad.

Using the word "het-hentai Is a force of habit for me since I've seen it before at the hentai forums and because there is also yuri hentai written and illustrated by men for men which some of it I don't like.

I also read some shoujo/josei and seinen which I truly like. I simply hope Kitty Media/Media Blasters will recover from their recent layoffs because it will be a shame if they go. That's all I have to say. Over and out. ;)
