Farewell Tokyopop BLU titles, eManga will miss ye.

Friday, May 6th, 2011

97814278329241We’re very sorry to announce that Tokyopop’s BLU titles have been removed permanently from emanga.com ahead of the expected deadline. DMP received a request from Gentosha Publishing to take the titles down despite the contractional deadline. For those of you lucky enough to have picked up these titles, you won’t have any issues accessing them on your reading list. We wish we could’ve given fair warning but this needed to be done in 24 hours.

#amazonfail got you down? DMP has your alternatives!

kindle-nookYesterday, we announced some issues we’ve had with Amazon and their content requirements for ebooks, issues that have resulted in the removal of several of our yaoi manga.  The continued public out-pour of support has been very humbling and we want to thank Jennifer at The Yaoi Review and especially all of our friends, fans on the forums and twitter for helping to get the word out about Amazon’s arbitrary censorship. Amazon’s Kindle Store may be hostile towards our yaoi titles right now but we expect their current policies will be unsustainable given the negative criticism.

IN THE MEANTIME! You can find nearly our entire catalog of ebooks on eManga.com including the four titles removed from Amazon’s store (The Color of Love, Selfish Demon King, King of Debt, and Weekend Lovers). For those of you that use Barnes and Noble’s Nook Store we have a very robust helping of our titles available for Nook, ipad, iphone, PC, and Mac, all without the threat of Amazonian censorship~

Don’t let #amazonfail get you down, our books ain’t going no where. :)

Amazon removing some yaoi titles from Kindle store.

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

amazon-kindlpcx

Recently Amazon has become more strict in enforcing their content requirements for ebooks. Several DMP books that have been available online since 2009 are getting the axe, beginning with our 801 Media titles like Weekend Lovers and King of Debt. However, in the last few days the issue has spread to the June imprint by Amazon’s refusal of The Selfish Demon King, and the removal of The Color of Love from the Kindle store. We fear that Amazon may target more of our books for removal so we’re warning all Amazon Kindle store users that providing you with our content may become more difficult in the future. However, if you purchase our ebooks before Amazon decides to remove it from their store you will still be able to access the book from your account.

Cheers!
