Digital Manga is very proud to announce the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) recognition of Itazura na Kiss in their 2011 Great Graphic Novels for Teens list. A division of the American Library Association, a YALSA committee selects and awards a variety of titles each year to promote young adult literature.
With over 300 million copies in print worldwide, live-action adaptations in three different countries and an anime series, Itazura na Kiss has been having a great year topping many sites’ 2010 manga lists. President Hikaru Sasahara could not be any more proud, saying, “I have been wanting this title to be the best shoujo manga in the US.”
Itazura na Kiss follows high school senior Kotoko Aihara and her attempts to catch popular Naoki Irie’s attentions. Due to a change in circumstances, Naoki and Kotoko are forced to be together every day. To celebrate, for a limited time, the first volume will be available at Akadot for $10. Subsequent volumes are also available at Akadot.com, and the fifth of twelve volumes is scheduled for release in March. Please go here for the complete YALSA list. Stay tuned for forthcoming promotions and contests!
