It’s a Wrap! Yaoi-Con 2010

Yaoi-Con 2010
What a wild weekend! Thank you to everyone who came by our booth and to our panel with Hinako Takanga! We were amazed at how far some of you traveled to be at this tiny convention (shout outs to New York, Virginia and…Canada?!). Read on for more, including pictures!

Our wayward group piled into a car and started our adventure on Thursday after working hard to prepare and pack up our books. We had a brief breather before picking up our wonderful guest, Hinako Takanaga on Friday. It was a blast hanging out with her, we hope she had a good time too! We think she also enjoyed seeing the Tatsumi and Morinaga cosplayers from The Tyrant Falls in Love. Too bad we didn’t get pictures of them.

Besides showing our guest around, we were pretty busy selling books at the booth. It was a great success, we completely sold out of Tyrant books, and the original shikishi auction surpassed our expectations. Speaking of auctions, one guest was auctioned off for a pretty high price at the Bishie Auction! Perhaps we should start doing something like that at DMI…(just kidding!) Our panel with Takanaga-sensei also went very well, along with announcements of 2011 releases and the unveiling of our Newsletter and the Digital Manga Guild.

Again, a huge thank you to all of our fans for your continuing support. Also a huge thank you to Takanaga-sensei, Jennifer Leblanc and Deb Aoki (did we miss anyone?). For all of our Yaoi-Con 2010 pictures, hop over to our Facebook page. The first of two interviews with Hinako Takanaga is up at The Yaoi Review.
