KickstarterStaffPick‘Alabaster’ has been chosen as a Kickstarter Staff Pick! Thank you!

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us so far! We really appreciate all the great comments and suggestions you’ve given us. On the campaign’s very first day, someone at Kickstarter chose it as a Staff Pick! (We don’t know who that person at KS is, but thank you!)

It’s great to know that other people have as much passion for Tezuka’s work as we do. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sending out several updates to the campaign, and we hope you will spread the word and get your friends to pledge, too!

As many of you already know, our mission is to publish as many of Tezuka’s unknown titles as possible in English and (hopefully in the future) other languages. These titles have never been adapted outside of Japan, and so there is still a very small niche of Tezuka fans. Kickstarter has done a tremendous job at spreading Tezuka’s name and works, and we want to keep that flame going so that we can keep bringing these never-before-seen treasures to our shores.

The idea behind Kickstarter is something that Tezuka would have applauded. He really believed in manga as an essential part of culture and, as the manga industry continues to grow, its ability to connect and inspire readers also grows. Tezuka felt that it was his responsibility as a manga artist to positively influence the public by sharing his experiences from some of the darkest moments in history and exploring through his works the depth and complexity of humanity, the value of life, and the potential within all people to create change.

Again, thank you all so much for your continuing support; we look forward to bringing more of Tezuka’s work to a larger audience–all hand in hand with you! You are truly part of Tezuka’s Legion! Let’s do great work together. ^_^
