DMG acquires first 487 titles

Digital Manga Guild

Gardena, CA (March 21, 2011) –  Digital Manga is excited to announce the first acquisition of 487 titles from Japanese publishers for the Digital Manga Guild. That number is expected to grow exponentially, as publishers have shown an increased interest within the past few weeks to be a part of DMG.
(DMG).

While the names of the publishers must still be kept under wraps, the growing amount of titles has astounded everyone at Digital Manga Publishing (DMP). In addition, the genres have varied between yaoi, shojo, josei, and seinen, with more to come. DMG has been President Sasahara’s personal project over the past years, as he sought a new way to produce more titles quickly for manga fans. The Guild finally came to fruition in October of last year under the DMP umbrella, and has steadily grown with over 1,100 members joining to take part in this manga community initiative.  With their help, DMG promises to be a guaranteed success.

The titles keep rolling in from Japan, further establishing the Digital Manga Guild as a serious business changing the way manga will be localized.

  1. Wow, this is great news! Will these titles be released on the DMG website, or emanga.com? And if they go to print, will they be under the DMG imprint, or their respective genres, June, DMP, and so on?

  2. What I’m curious about is when these series do go into print, will it increase the chances of the DMP changes the printing format again?

I know that the dust jacket were dropped due to series not selling that well, but if series that are shown to be highly rated are picked from DG( and most likely will sell well), will DMP’s printing format change, again?

  7. If we were ready to share we would have done so :) It’s still in early stages, we will not name any titles until we are able to reveal who the publishers working with us are.

  8. These titles will be released on eManga.com, but will have a collective storefront on DMG. Should they go to print, we plan to give each publisher their own label — but we are still thinking this over and working it out.
